CODE ENFORCEMENT

The Code Enforcement Officer is authorized by the Township Board to enforce codes and ordinances adopted by the Township.  To contact the Code Enforcement Officer, please stop by the Township Office at 145 S. 2nd Street, Freeland, MI  48623 or Phone (989) 695-9512.

Signs

Prior to the construction or establishment of any sign, a permit shall be obtained from the Township Zoning Enforcement Officer.  A sign permit shall become null and void if the work for which the permit was issued has not been completed within a period of 6 months after the date of the permit. Temporary sign permits are $15.00 and permanent sign permits are $25.00 and can be purchased at the Township Office.

All temporary signs are subject to the restrictions outlined in the following Table of Special Purpose Sign Regulations and subject to the location restrictions for permanent signs in the applicable Zoning District.
